Term 1 - Week 6

Wow, there has been plenty going on in Room 8 this week! We have been busy planning, making and testing boats in the school pool. It is fair to say that some were more successful than others. Luckily for us, our friends in Room 16 were in the pool and willing to help us out by collecting any sunken ships.

We also had Sarah visit us with her worm farm. She told us all about how to care for the worms and the food they like to eat. Nayland Primary has a worm farm and Room 8 are going to be responsible for looking after it. The worms love vegetables, especially broccoli and egg shells among other things. The children may want to bring in worms for our worm farm which is fine, but Sarah told us that if we touch them with our bare hands we will burn their skin so make sure your hands are wet or you are wearing gloves.

We have been busy practicing the sounds we have been learning this week. Here are Rory and Peter playing I-Spy and some children making a wand. Can you think of other things you could make that begin with the 'w' sound.

Have a good weekend everyone.
